Coronavirus
Dear existing and prospective patients,
We are hoping that you and your family are healthy and safe during this very difficult time. We would like to update you on our office policy as we are dealing with this pandemic. Our number one concern is the health and safety of our patients and staff while in our office.
Based on the recommendations of the CDC, the ADA (American Dental Association) and the TSBDE (Texas State Board of Dental Examiners), our office is currently open for limited hours and we are safely attending to the oral health of our patients. Although we already use hospital-grade disinfectants on a routine basis in our office, we are taking additional measures to ensure the safety of our dental community.
If you identify with any of the below descriptions, please stay home. We will NOT treat or allow entry to the office of any patients that have ANY of the following:
- Fever (must be free of fever for 2 weeks prior to dental visit)
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Compromised immune system
- You or a family member are considered high-risk by your physician
- You or a family member has traveled on an airline during the past 3 weeks
- Previously or currently asked to self-isolate or self-quarantine
- Close contact to an individual with COVID-19 infection
WE ARE LIMITING THE OFFICE TO ONLY THE PATIENT BEING SEEN AND IF A MINOR, THE MINOR AND ONE ADULT GUARDIAN ONLY. WE ARE SPREADING OUT THE PATIENTS SO THAT THERE IS NOBODY IN THE WAITING AREA AND THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE PATIENT PER DOCTOR AT ANY ONE TIME. FOR THIS REASON, WE ASK THAT YOU ARRIVE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME ON TIME AND NOT EARLY OR LATE.
Upon arrival to the appointment, we are asking patients to rinse for 30 seconds with hydrogen peroxide and then to wash their hands with soap and water in our presence.
Upon dismissal of the patient, we are encouraging the patient to wash their hands with soap and water prior to leaving the office.
Upon dismissal of the patient, all disposable materials are discarded in our central sterilization trash. Afterwards, all hard surfaces in the operatory (including the patient chair, cabinet handles, cabinet surfaces, patient sink, etc.) are being cleaned with Cavicide wipes, which are hospital grade disinfectant wipes. Finally, non-disposable instruments are placed in an ultrasonic machine, rinsed and then placed in a machine called an autoclave. This machine sterilizes the instruments and handpieces at a temperature of 270 degrees Farenheit.
The waiting area, the hard surfaces in the check-in and check-out area and the main entrance and hallway entrance door knobs are continuously wiped with disinfectants and Lysol aerosol spray is continuously used throughout the day. Furthermore, we continue to clean AND disinfect all areas of the restrooms, as we have done daily since we opened the office 11 years ago in 2009. The floors are mopped with bleach water at the end of each day.
YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OUR DENTAL TEAM IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE. PLEASE DO NOT HESTITATE TO REACH OUT TO US DIRECTLY VIA TEXT AT (281)245-0711 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
Thank you and wishing you all safety and good health!
Dr. Hamidi, Dr. Dahyia and the entire Smile Time Dental TEAM
