DENTURES In Houston
What Are Dentures?
Dentures are artificial teeth (crafted from porcelain or zirconia) that replace your original teeth to enhance the appearance of your smile. The team of prosthodontists at Smile Time Dental offer various dentures to best match your needs, including:
Traditional Dentures
Traditional dentures fit directly onto your gums, allowing you to have a full set of teeth and enjoy some of your favorite foods. Dr. Dahiya or Dr. Wong work closely with you to develop customized dentures that work specifically for your needs.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant-supported dentures are artificial teeth that fit securely to dental implants. These implants are surgically placed within your jawbone and after they heal, your new custom dentures attach firmly to them. You can remove implant-supported dentures just like you do with traditional dentures.

Partial Dentures
If you want to keep some of your original teeth intact, Dr. Dahiya or Dr. Wong work with you to create custom-made partial dentures that address your needs and keep remaining teeth healthy. Dental implants may be an option to firmly support partial dentures for long-lasting results.

How Should I Care For Dentures?
Caring for dentures means:
Your prosthodontist may recommend a denture cleaner with the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance (toothpaste is too harsh for dentures)
You should brush your dentures daily as you would with real teeth to remove plaque and food deposits and prevent stains
Use a toothbrush specifically designed for dentures or a soft-bristled toothbrush
Remove your dentures at night and soak them in water or a denture solution
When you’re ready to improve your smile and gain the confidence you deserve, call Smile Time Dental to schedule a consultation or book an appointment online.
How Are Dentures Fitted?
Once your gums or dental implants have healed, Dr. Dahiya or Dr. Wong fit you for permanent dentures. You may receive temporary dentures while you wait for your permanent, custom-made dentures.
During a separate visit, your prosthodontist secures the permanent dentures in place to make sure they fit properly, and gives you instructions about caring for your new teeth.
